Welcome to Humminghills Alpacas & Fleece Carding Service

Situated at GLEN INNES up in the beautiful New England Tableland region with an altitude of 1085 metres.

In 2004 Dennis bought me two wether alpacas for my 50th birthday, and now our four legged family has grown to over 200 and counting.

We spent our first 10 years in alpacas in the Tweed area and in early 2014 we moved to GLEN INNES onto a larger 168 acre property fronting Beardy Waters Creek where our herd of Coloured Huacaya and Suris are thriving. We are very easy to find only 4klms from Glen Innes.

With the addition of the Jurustalle Herd in 2015, which we co-own with Lesley Drake, our herd is very, very colourful these days.

The herd at Humminghills has now grown to a size where we have animals for sale throughout the year. We have a choice of quality pregnant females, maidens,( $600 upwards, depending on age and quality), potential stud males($600 upwards, depending on quality), and some superfine gentle young wethers as pets or older  for guards( $300 to $500) of various colours for sale.

A few years ago we ventured into the delightful Suris, which in 2010 brought us the joy of 7 Supreme ribbons from our first progeny Humminghills OLIVER TWIST, with the peak of his winning streak being the 2010 Charles Ledger. Also achieving 3 more Supremes in 2011. Oliver is now standing at stud and is very happy with his role, and we are very happy with his progeny, all with amazing lustre and fineness, giving great frame and bone and doing very well in the show ring,  He is available for drive by stud duties by appointment.

We now also have quite a lot of the Cedar House genetics, which will only improve our gene pool.

We remain committed to the continuing improvement of a genuine quality herd of superior alpacas, sourcing the advancing improvements made by the industry and helping and encouraging those who would choose to share our passion.
